MILAN PITLACH / Shanghai Concepts

The exhibition is organized by GVUO and the Cabinet of Architecture.

As part of the opening ceremony, there will be a formal presentation of Milan Pitlach’s photographic publication Salt of the Earth. The book will be officially launched by the Ostrava poet and writer Petr Hruška.

Architect Milan Pitlach (born 1943) graduated from the Czech Technical University in Prague. He is a member of the Chamber of Architects of the Federal Republic of Germany as well as the Czech Republic. He has worked in London and spent several years at the renowned O.M. Ungers studio in Cologne. In recent years, he lived and worked in Shanghai, China. As an architect, he focuses primarily on residential and mixed-use complexes as well as urban planning projects. He has received numerous awards in the Czech Republic and abroad. Besides architecture, he is also dedicated to photography; his works and texts are regularly published, among others, in Revolver Revue and Kritická Příloha Revolver Revue.
