Extinct forms

2005

purchased in 2023 with support from the Czech Republic Ministry of Culture

From the series Extinct Forms. Through twenty objects made of paper, leather, cardboard, or canvas, the artist reconstructs the history of selected book formats from antiquity to the present day. The white minimalist treatment allows for focused attention on both detail and overall design, but it also has a conceptual foundation. It serves as a latent critique and a sigh of lament from the artist over the current state of society, from which books are slowly but surely disappearing.
