19. 6. – 19. 7. 2009

Studio Najbrt is one of the most prominent graphic and design studios in the Czech Republic. It employs a number of exceptional individuals whose work touches nearly every area of everyday life. The studio focuses on film, theatre, literature, periodicals, corporate identity, and exhibitions.

Aleš Najbrt is not only a top designer and the studio’s artistic director, but also an actor, singer, pallbearer, and wine lover. A member of the group Tros Sketos, he is also the author of all printed materials for the current Prague exhibition Andy Warhol: Motion Pictures. Aleš Najbrt, whose work has been presented at many prestigious international shows, has received numerous awards. Among the most recent is the Czech Film and Television Academy Award for Best Film Poster, for the film The Karamazovs.

Together with Boris Meluš, Aleš Najbrt is the author of the new Ostrava logo with three exclamation marks: “Three exclamation marks after the word Ostrava. That’s energy, confidence, and humour. That’s the character of the city – heavy industry and new opportunities in a changing urban landscape.

Everyone can attach their own feelings, moods, and experiences to this abstract logotype. The exclamation marks can be used independently as a symbol and also combined with various words or messages placed in front of them.”
