Stores of one place and one time.
The pandemic turned our world and its val¬ues upside down. Direct contact between people – previously something so natural, which we took for granted – became a rari¬ty. Isolation cut us off from others, and some human stories were forgotten forever.
Storytelling has always been at the very heart of our culture. Thanks to stories, we learn about our world and about ourselves. During the pandemic, theatres were closed, preventing actors from telling stories as they are used to doing. The Petr Bezruč Theatre has therefore decided to publicly present the stories of people who were mar¬ginalized by the pandemic. For four months, its actors regularly visited seniors at a nursing home in Bystřice nad Olší and lis¬tened to their life stories. Stories full of pain, and full of joy. But all these stories shared one common thread – love. Love of home, of God, of a life partner, a sister or a broth¬er, a mother or a father, love for life itself.
In this unique project, you’ll be able to visit a multimedia exhibition during the day, discovering the extraordinary lives led by the people around you. In the evening, the gallery will come to life with theatre, in the form of a documentary performance by ac¬tors from the Petr Bezruč Theatre, giving you a glimpse into these extraordinary lives. The concept builds on previous successful projects by the theatre’s actors (Colourful Layers and Hotel Bezruč) which moved be¬yond the confines of the theatrical stage.
