Bibliophilia / Bílá Hora Gallery (exhibition opening)
This exhibition presents 18 unique books, illustrated with graphic art or photographs by renowned artists (Ovčáček, Sivko, Pawera, Fuková, Helbich, Kadrnožka, Šnajdr, Píža, Koval, Kudláček, Varmuža, Hanzík, Zelenka). The books are published in Kopřivnice by the museum-owner, art collector, editor, publisher and author Jiří Klučka at his own expense. This is the first time that these books have been displayed to the public. The exhibition is a collaboration between the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava and the Society of Czech Bibliophiles. The exhibition is curated by Renata Skřebská and lasts until 28 November 2019. Renata Skřebská and Jiří Klučka will both be present at the exhibition opening.
This year’s Festival of Ostrava Libraries is the third instalment of this annual event, which showcases the diversity of libraries in and around central Ostrava. You will have the opportunity to peek behind the scenes at the city’s libraries, as well as attending a range of lectures, workshops, exhibitions, competitions, a book fair and other fascinating events.
