Dáša Lasotová’s art, like her other activities, is multilayered in both content and form. Yet it remains firmly anchored in her conceptual thought and her working methods, enabling her to explore themes such as change and temporality, mutual interconnections, large and small histories, and our collective and personal past. From the 1970s, Lasotová was in close contact with the conceptual art scene that was so strong in North Moravia, and her work brought a distinctively personal contribution to this scene – not accentuating the austerely analytical approach that characterized much of the conceptual artists’ work, but instead introducing refreshing elements of lyricism, a close bond with nature, insight and wit.
