The opening was taken place on Tuesday 8 April at 5 p.m.
The name “Collaboratory” is a neologism made from the words “collaboration” and “laboratory”. It is used to describe an experimental, innovative and cooperative working environment that blends together various disciplines, approaches and creative strategies. A collaboratory is a shared space for research and creativity where individual students and groups cooperate, bringing together various perspectives and areas of expertise. This exhibition concept explores experimental creative approaches within the constantly evolving organism of the Painting II studio, which is more than just a space for teaching: it acts as a laboratory for visual thinking in which students can question established norms, analyze the medium of painting in the broader context of contemporary art, and seek new experimental strategies for their own art.
The exhibition COLLABORATORY is not a mere presentation of finished works; it is an open experiment in which each gesture, event or work functions as a fragment of a larger process of thought. Viewers thus become co-creators in the act of interpretation, and their perceptions and perspectives form a key part of the exhibition’s dynamics. In this context, we can see the exhibition as more than a simple display of art works; it is a complex process of layering and experimentation with intermedia images, sounds, and performative events which are constantly evolving and always in flux.
