Po sorele brusel, kov, sklo, struktury a beton ("After sorele brussels, metal, glass, structures and concrete") - Po sorele Brusel

Po sorele brusel, kov, sklo, struktury a beton ("After sorele brussels, metal, glass, structures and concrete")

The book focuses on the development of architecture and fine arts from the mid-1950s to the end of the 1960s, spanning the following decade, and on issues of monument care for the cultural heritage of this period. At that time, late modernism prevailed in the Czech and Slovak environment, initially in a variety known as the Brussels style or Brussels for short. From the second half of the 1950s to the mid-1960s, the mentioned style layer significantly changed not only architecture, but also fine arts and other areas of creation. New stylistic varieties, including structuralism, brutalism and minimalist tendencies, were based on or espoused against Brussels. At present, only a few solitary buildings and works of art in public space are protected, as Czech society and with it the state monument care and its executive bodies have not yet been able to properly evaluate the period.
