Krása bude křečovitá: Surrealismus v Československu 1933–1939 ("Beauty will be convulsive: Surrealism in Czechoslovakia 1933–1939")
The book presents a new elaboration of the development of Czechoslovak surrealism in its period 1933–1939. In more than six hundred photographs, it captures surrealism as a complex artistic phenomenon that has affected not only fine art, but also photography, literature, film and scenography. The concept of the book follows the fate of the Group of Surrealists in the Czechoslovak Republic, the work and opinion development of its members, the initiator of the group Vítězslav Nezval, Jindřich Štyrský, Toyen, Karel Teig, Bohuslav Brouk and others. For the first time, it comprehensively deals with authors such as František Hudeček, František Gross, Ladislav Zívr, Miroslav Hák, Bohdan Lacina, Václav Zykmund, František Janoušek, Jiří Kolář, Alois Wachsman, whose work was influenced by surrealism, but did not become members of the group. It does not forget the Slovak surrealists, the poet Rudolf Fabry or the painters Imro Weiner-Kráľ and František Malý.
