Opening was take place on Tuesday 16 November 2021 at 5 p.m. Guided tour with author and curator was take place on Thursday 30 November. 

Sibinský structures his work into lengthy intervals of time, within which he explores and develops the potential of his creative programme. On the grey horizon he discovers combinations of creative visions which force him to critically address the broader contexts of societal changes. In his work, Sibinský consciously and creatively explores socio-ideological and art-historical contexts – addressing these contexts as an artist in order to define his own position.

Through his journey of artistic discovery, Sibinský constantly discovers fresh aspects of graphic art disciplines in both digital and analogue forms – including their mutual interactions. He tests the ability of graphic art to define a thematic space for artistic application. He explores his graphic principles in various directions, reaching into various spaces.

OSTRAVA FOR OSTRAVA

The cycle of exhibitions OSTRAVA FOR OSTRAVA draws on the gallery’s long-term strategy of presenting the work of artists with close links to our city (Hana Puchová, Daniel Balabán, František Kowolowski, Zbyněk Janáček, Petr Lysáček and more). In response to the current situation restricting gallery opening, we have decided to intensify our focus on this aspect of our activities and expand it to create a year-round programme. This year we will be presenting works by Václav Rodek, Marek Sibinský and Eliška Čabalová. I am confident that our mutually beneficial partnership with Ostrava’s cultural scene will continue in future years too.
